This is a report of a survey conducted in 1997 in the suburban slum area of Yangon called "Hlaing Tharyar". The report presents the results of the survey, including the background to the creation of this area, the state of infrastructure such as electricity, water, sewage, and roads, and the opinions of the residents on the state of infrastructure.
