Futaba Furniture (founded in 1921) is a rare furniture manufacturer in Kyoto that introduces the products of Artek, which is famous for laminated bentwood, for the first time in Japan and manufactures original furniture that introduces the know-how of wood processing in Scandinavia.
In this study, we will give an overview of how the modern design was accepted and produced as a product in regional SMEs. At that time, I paid attention to the role that the concept of molded plywood played in modern design.
